Birth of an empire

Marc Ecko’s journey began in the mid-80s while he was still a high school student working in a makeshift design studio located in the garage of his parents’ New Jersey home. Armed only with an airbrush and his creative sketches, Marc quickly built a loyal fan base and in 1993, at the age of 20, founded *ecko unltd. Ecko unltd. has evolved from 6 t-shirts in 1993 to and empire of 7 brands - *ecko unltd., Red by Marc Ecko (Eckored), Marc Ecko Cut & Sew, Ecko Function (international), Zoo York, Avirex, G Unit; as well as Complex Magazine, Getting Up videogame, several charity organizations and thought provoking actions that disrupt the everyday status quo encouraging youths to be expressive and fight for their rights.

In Fall 2007, Marc Ecko introduced his new contemporary junior’s line entitled ‘Red by Marc Ecko’. The collection draws it’s inspiration from seasonal fashion trends and reinterprets them into versatile pieces that are casual, fun unrestrained and hip. The collection also includes a new lifestyle category adorned ‘ath-leisure’. By taking women’s athletic wear and combining it with leisure wear incorporating graphics and adorning embellishments.
